Virginia Beach is a coastal paradise for pet owners, with miles of beaches, state parks, and a mild maritime climate that allows year-round outdoor activity. The city has designated dog-friendly beach areas and an extensive network of parks and trails. The Sandbridge area and First Landing State Park are particular highlights for pet owners. Virginia Beach's resort culture means many hotels, restaurants, and shops cater to visitors with pets. The ocean environment provides unique exercise opportunities but also requires awareness of rip currents, jellyfish, and sand temperature in summer months.
